The learning space: Beyond the classroom.

I agree with the text, in that sometimes too much structure in school can be a negative thing. Students need to break out into the physical world where they are exposed to stimulating experiences that allow them to 'view their world in new and positive ways'. It gives students are more literal view of learning where they can be introduced to new perspectives whilst also making them more resilient. It is through participating in incursions and excursions that they realise that they're not alone. Because incursions and excursions are not necessarily in a traditional classroom setting, students have the opportunity to interact with peers that they may not usually associate with. This builds confidence and promotes their social and emotional learning.
